The Autumn Edit

The Autumn Edit

Autumn is fashion’s real new year. The light gets softer, the colours get deeper, and everyone suddenly remembers they own a coat.

Here’s what we’re wearing, putting on our nails and buying for our home this season. Fifteen trends. No filler.

Five to wear

01. Dark Plum.
Not purple. Plum. The colour of our favorite juicy autumn fruit.

02. Olive & Moss Green.
Earthy, mystical, grounded. Wear it as an accent or, if you’re feeling risky, as a leather coat. Sublime.

03. Bambi print.
Leopard’s softer, more romantic sister. Fawn spots on a silk scarf, a coat lining, a slip skirt. Sweet, never childish.

04. The long leather skirt.
Ankle-length, a little stiff, a little dangerous. Wear it with a knit and boots by day, heels and a silk shirt by night.

05. The new Chanel.
Matthieu Blazy has made Chanel feel young again. Tweed that moves, ease over perfection, a woman who looks like she has somewhere to be. And the most gorgeous bags. Very MUSE of him.

Five on your nails

01. Burgundy.
Autumn’s signature, and ours. Deep, glossy, always expensive-looking.
Wear: NINA, our burgundy polka dots.

02. The Japanese manicure.
Not a colour, a philosophy. Natural nails buffed to a soft, healthy shine. The perfect ritual for your nails between sets.

03. Glazed French.
The clean-girl manicure grew up. A sheer pink base, a fine white tip, a pearly glaze on top.

Wear: ALLURA.

04. Dark glazed brown.
Chocolate with a glaze. Warm, glossy, unexpected. Looks like a latte with an extra dash of personality.

Wear: OPHELIA

05. Dark cherry.
Red’s moodier sibling. Almost black in candlelight, bright cherry in the sun. The color of a late dinner in Paris.

Wear: ELECTRA

Five to decorate your home with

01. Asia Galore.
Jade green, cherry blossom prints, animal motifs, dark wood, moody lighting. Asia is so chic.

02. Aubergine accents.
Deep purples are creeping into living rooms: cushions, velvet chairs, a single vase. Plum, again. It’s that kind of season.

03. Animal Print.
On cushions, rugs, walls or chairs. Animal print gives a maximalist vibe that takes your home from plain to fun with just small tweaks.

04. Glass Tiles.
Never have we ever seen such a cool bathroom addition. Use it as a shower wall, shelf or basin material.

05. The dark bathroom.
Dark reflective tiles and dimmed lights, like a boutique hotel at midnight. The new best place for a mirror selfie.

One trick before you go

Changing your nails with the season? Let your natural nails breathe for a day between sets. Buff gently, apply cuticle oil, and you’re ready for the next look.

See you next Sunday.
